Support Force delivers shore-based capability through a range of products and services that enables Navy to meet preparedness requirements. This is delivered through the following key organisational roles:
- Command of Support Force Executive (Headquarters), Defence Marine Support Services (DMSS) Group, Personnel Support Unit Australia (PSU), Naval Establishments and Regional Navy Headquarters (NHQ)
- Planning, provision, assurance and reporting of Support Force capability (including workforce, infrastructure, garrison support, airfield and port operations) in support of fleet delivery of current capability
- Provision of a structured return-to-work (RTW) pathway, through PSUs, for Navy personnel with multifaceted personal issues (MPIs) and personnel temporarily landed from HMA ships
- Oversight and assurance of WHS and environmental legislation compliance in Naval Establishments and regional NHQs.
